Legacy Code Tool is used in conjunction with Target for TIC6000 to generate C6713DSK ADC/DAC blocks.
These blocks are intended to be used in applications where there is a control loop and therefore minimizing latency is important. C6713DSK ADC block in this example outputs a single stereo sample ([1x2] vector containing left & right channel samples) and C6713DSK DAC block accepts a single stereo sample. The goal is to minimize latency. C6713DSK ADC / DAC blocks shipped as part of Target for TIC6000 product is optimized for frame based processing; i.e. the ADC block acquires multiple samples before passing it down to downstream blocks. Frame size or number of samples acquired typically changes anywhere from 64 to 1024 samples.
To minimize latency, one can reduce the frame size however because of the DMA-based implementation, latency is still high. In this example, I modified the Target for TIC6000 drivers so that DMA mechanism is completely bypassed. The ADC/DAC blocks presented in this example use McBSP interrupts or can alternatively operate in polling mode. Read readme.txt for details.
